Beavers Fall In Overtime To Washington
March 06, 2019 | Men's Basketball
SEATTLE, Wash. – Oregon State took Pac-12 Conference leader Washington to the wire and then some before bowing to the Huskies 81-76 Wednesday night in overtime at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
Â
The game marked another disappointing close loss for the Beavers (17-12, 9-8 in Pac-12), who have now lost four of their last five games by a total of 11 points. OSU was led by Tres Tinkle's 31 points and 10 rebounds, with Kylor Kelley adding a career-high tying 16 points.
Â
The game marked the third time in the last five meetings the Beavers and Huskies (24-6, 15-2) have advanced into overtime, but the first win for Washington in those games. The Huskies were led Wednesday by the 22 points from David Crisp and Noah Nickerson.
Â
The Beavers had an opportunity to win the game in regulation, but a deep three-point attempt by Stephen Thompson Jr. at the buzzer narrowly missed. Thompson Jr., had won two recent games for OSU with buzzer-beating shots in the series.
Â
Oregon State travels to Pullman for the final regular season game of the season, playing Washington State Saturday at Noon on the Pac-12 Network.
