June 22, 2026 | Men's Basketball
CORVALLIS  – The Oregon State men's basketball program has added Alex Peavler to its staff in the role of assistant coach, head coach Justin Joyner announced Monday.
Â
"Alex has been an integral part of one of the best offenses in America over the last five years and brings a wealth of knowledge to our program," Joyner said. "He's smart, hungry, and cares deeply about developing relationships with our players and our community."
Â
Peavler joins the Beavers after spending the prior two seasons at Saint Louis. In the role of Graduate Assistant, he helped the Billikens to the NCAA Tournament in 2026 where they claimed an opening-round win over Georgia. Saint Louis won the Atlantic 10 Conference, and Peavler worked with eight All-A10 selections including 2026 Conference Player of the Year Robbie Avila.
Â
"I'm extremely blessed and honored to be a part of Beaver Nation," Peavler said. "I can't wait to get to work with Coach Joyner, the staff, and our student-athletes. I think we will have all the components to make Oregon State University, the Corvallis community, and Beaver Nation proud to root for the Beavers. Go Beavs!"
Â
Prior to his time at Saint Louis, Peavler spent three seasons at Indiana State – most recently as Director of Player Development. The Sycamore's won the Missouri Valley Conference in his last year with the program, posting a record of 32-7 in that campaign. They led the nation in 2-point field goal percentage and effective field goal percentage that season.
Â
Peavler's career also features a year as Assistant Coach/Offensive Coordinator for Best Virginia in The Basketball Tournament, where he was responsible for communicating and implementing offensive strategies. He was a Graduate Assistant for Memphis in the 2020-21 season, guiding them to an NIT Title, and also served as an Assistant Coach at Wellington High School for three campaigns.
Â
Peavler earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University. He has a Master's in Sports Management from Sports Management from Indiana State, as well a Graduate Certificates in Digital Media Marketing and Product and Brand Management from Saint Louis.
