
Beavers Fall In Civil War To Oregon, 82-63

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Jay-R Strowbridge scored a career-high 26 points and Oregon hit a season-best 13 three-pointers to defeat Oregon State 82-63 Saturday.
Joevan Catron and E.J. Singler added 13 points apiece for Oregon (14-12, 7-7 Pac-10), which opened the season 0-4 in conference play. The Ducks have won seven of their last 10 games and are now in fourth place, behind No. 12 Arizona, UCLA and Washington.
Senior Lathen Wallace came off the bench and knocked down 4-of-7 three-pointers to finish with 17 points for the Beavers (9-16, 4-10 Pac-10). With the four three-pointers, he passed Brent Barry and senior Calvin Haynes for seventh place on Oregon State's three-point field goals made list with 131 in his career.
Sophomore Jared Cunningham had nine points, while freshman Ahmad Starks had eight points and freshman Devon Collier and Haynes each had seven. Haynes moved into 18th on Oregon State's career scoring list, passing Earl Martin, with 1,201 points. Sophomore Joe Burton led the Beavers with eight rebounds.Strowbridge, who hit a career-high six three-pointers on nine attempts, sparked a second-half run that put the game out of reach.
After Oregon State pulled within 48-39 at the 14:06 mark, Strowbridge hit three-pointers on three straight Oregon possessions to spark a run of six straight 3's by the Ducks that put them up 66-46 with 8:46 to play.
