Head Coach Craig Robinson
On the game ...
"A team that's expected to fight for the championship of the league, you can't just spot them 19 points and expect to win. That's what we did. After we spot them the 19 points, we decided to start playing hard like we normally do. Then we cut it down to four and then we miss foul shots."
On the difference in the second half on the comeback ...
"We were trying to play defense. Before that we weren't playing defense. We were just more aggressive. That's all. We didn't playing aggressively at the start of the game. We played tentatively. We played like a team who didn't think they should be 2-0. That's what I was telling the guys. You have to learn how to be 2-0. Once we got it in our minds that we can play, we started playing."
On the energy it took to cut the lead from 19 to 4 ...
"That's what happens. Good teams weather the storm. We actually made the storm a little longer than I thought. We had to make some plays down there, but we were so exhausted from making the comeback, it's hard to keep it going."
On the play of Klay Thompson ...
"Klay Thompson is Klay Thompson. We didn't stop him. But it was more our play than his play. We could have handled him scoring a lot of points if we had come out harder right at the start."
On what they need to do against the Huskies on Saturday ...
"We need to have a good start and play like we were playing in the middle of this game at the beginning to see if that changes things for them. I always think when guys play loose, they play better. And when teams are used to having leads and don't have a lead, it's hard for them."
On the first Pac-10 road game for the freshmen ...
"I'm sure there were some nerves out there. There were some blown assignments on some basic stuff that we had worked on. There were an inordinate amount of turnovers. There were some missed block outs. There were all kinds of stuff. They need to do better because they are in there."
