On the game ...
"We have to play better. If I can't motivate these guys to want to play better than that's my fault. I'm going to take the blame for this. I'm not doing a good job in motivating this team."
On the reason for the struggles ...
"We have not been able to play the kind of defense that we've played the last two years I've been here and I'm very disappointed about that. We haven't played with the smarts. We haven't played with the intensity. I need to relook at myself first and then the team after that."
On the young players at this point of the season ...
"I told the team that maybe the young guys have played so many more games and had so many more practices than you've ever had and you're tired. Fatigued is the word I used. So that could be the case. But before I lay the blame on them, I'm going to lay the blame on me and see what I can do to get these guys going."
On practices translating to the games ...
"This has been the story with us all year. We are practicing better but we aren't playing better and that usually doesn't happen. The interesting thing is that it started with a couple of guys who are practicing really well, but once we get to the games they aren't doing well. There's going to be a whole lot of reexamining of what we do. I'm going to take a hard look at what I'm doing and see if I can help these guys get out of their malaise."
On anything in the game that stood out ...
"We aren't a three-point shooting team and we shoot 3-for-18. We also aren't that bad of a three-point shooting team. At some point you have to make shots. What I thought was key to the game, in general, is that we made some silly mistakes right in the middle there that cost us 10 points. And then we played them even for the rest of the time until we stopped playing."
