Brandon Eisert Makes MLB Debut

TORONTO – Left-handed pitcher Brandon Eisert became the 43rd Beaver to appear in the Major Leagues when he made his debut for the Toronto Blue Jays Monday night.
Eisert came on in relief in the eighth inning of the Blue Jays' 7-3 loss to Boston at the Rogers Centre. He worked two scoreless innings, scattering a hit and three walks.
The Beaverton, Ore., native pitched for the Beavers from 2017-19, recording 62 appearances, with seven starts. He went 18-5 and posted a 2.28 earned run average, striking out 176 in 165 2/3 innings. He also totaled nine saves and limited opponents to 135 hits and 44 walks for a 1.08 WHIP. He was named a Third-Team All-American by Baseball America after his junior season.
Eisert, who was a member of Oregon State's 2018 National Championship team, was selected in the 18th round of the 2019 MLB Draft by Toronto. He is the sixth Beaver from the 2017 or 2018 Beaver clubs to play at the MLB level, joining Adley Rutschman, Drew Rasmussen, Nick Madrigal, Trevor Larnach and Steven Kwan.
