SCOUTING THE DONS:

Led by Kaitlyn Sasadeusz's three goals and two assists, 11 different players have recorded a point for the Dons this season. In net, Kira Ybarra has made 42 saves across 11 appearances and holds a save percentage of 67.7.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Mya Sanchez was named WCC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after a strong weekend that resulted in one win and a scoreless draw across the two-game road slate.
On Wednesday, the junior shot-stopper played a huge role in OSU's 2-1 victory over Pacific, making six saves and posting a save percentage of 85.7 across 18 shots faced. Just three days later, she tied a career high with seven saves, leading the team to its second clean sheet of the season in a scoreless draw against St. Mary's.
In her first season as the team's top-choice goalkeeper, Sanchez has made an immediate impact, playing every single minute across Oregon State's 11 games in 2024, making a conference-leading 58 saves and averaging 5.3 per contest. With a save percentage of 75.3, she has made five or more saves in eight different games this season.
GO FOR GOAL:
Oregon State has shown a commitment to throwing numbers forward and trying to score goals this season, something that has shown itself in the overall goalscoring and within recent weeks. After scoring 16 goals in 2023, the Beavers are up to 13 so far in 2024 with seven games remaining, with shots ending up on target at a rate of 43.1% compared to 38.5% last season.
EARLY AND OFTEN:
OSU has scored multiple goals in four of its last five games, with the lone detractor coming in Saturday's scoreless draw at Saint Mary's. Of the 10 shots to find the back of the net in those five games, five have come in the first half, including Jones' record-setting second minute goal against Pacific.
DYNAMIC DUO
McKenna Martinez leads the Beavers in total points this season thanks to a pair of goals and assists, with both goals coming off a fed from the team-leader in assists, Katie Godden, who tallied a point in four-consecutive matches prior to the Beavers' draw at Saint Mary's.
Entering Wednesday's contest against San Francisco, Martinez ranks third in the WCC for total shots with 36, while Godden's three assists put her in a tie for sixth place.
SUPER SOPHOMORE:
Claire Jones has had a strong start to her sophomore season, starting all 11 games and playing 962 of a possible 990 minutes. Jones, who plays deep in the Beaver midfield, scored her first goal of the season against Pacific last Wednesday and followed it up with a shot on goal at Saint Mary's on Saturday, a long-range effort that was punched out for a corner kick.
The Ridgefield, Wash., native enters Wednesday's contest with four points this season thanks to one goal and two assists, recording points in two of her last three appearances.
STRONG START:
After some promising but tough performances to start the season, Oregon State has turned a corner in recent weeks and gotten off to a strong start in West Coast Conference play. Across three games the Beavers have out-scored opponents 6-3 and posted one clean sheet, despite only playing just one conference game at Paul Lorenz Field. Defensively, OSU is one of two teams to allow three or fewer goals against conference opponents.
WHAT'S NEXT:
The Beavers are back on the road, heading south to face San Diego. Kickoff against the Torreros is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday.
