Beavers To Host Arizona Thursday At Gill

THE GAME: Oregon State (17-9, 9-5 Pac-12) returns to Gill Coliseum for its final two home games of the season, beginning with the Arizona Wildcats (16-12, 7-8 Pac-12) at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

The Wildcats won the first meeting between the teams this season, 82-71, at the McKale Center in Tucson. The Beavers shot 51.0 percent from the field, compared to 40.3 percent for Arizona, but the Wildcats went 13-for-27 from beyond the arc, had a 41-29 rebounding advantage and a 26-9 edge in second-chance points. Tres Tinkle posted a double-double in the loss with 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Ethan Thompson added 17 points. Brandon Williams led five Arizona players in double figures with 20 points.

The teams went to overtime last year in Corvallis with the Wildcats winning 75-65 when they were ranked No. 14 in the nation. Ethan Thompson had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the Beavers. Deandre Ayton led Arizona with 19 points and 12 boards.

Oregon State's last win in the series came on Jan. 11, 2015 in Wayne Tinkle's first season. The Beavers won 58-56 at Gill Coliseum when the Wildcats were ranked No. 7 in the nation. It was their first win over a Top 10 team since March 2, 2000 (70-69 over No. 3 Arizona).
