Beavers To Battle Arizona Saturday In Tucson

THE GAME: Oregon State (11-5, 3-1 Pac-12) will battle the Arizona Wildcats (13-5, 4-1) at 4 p.m. PT on Saturday at McKale Center in Tucson.

Arizona won both games last season. The first was 62-53 on Jan. 11 in Tucson when the Wildcats were ranked No. 17 in the nation. Tres Tinkle led Oregon State with 18 points and nine rebounds. Stephen Thompson Jr. was the only other Beaver in double figures with 12. Allonzo Trier scored a game-high 21 points.

The second was an overtime thriller on Feb. 22 in Corvallis, which the Wildcats won 75-65 when they were No. 14 in the nation. Ethan Thompson had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the Beavers. Tres Tinkle finished with 14 points, six rebounds and six assists, Deandre Ayton led Arizona with 19 points and 12 boards.

The Beavers defeated Arizona in Wayne Tinkle's first season, 58-56, on Jan. 11, 2015 at Gill Coliseum when the Wildcats were ranked No. 7 in the nation. It was their first win over a Top 10 team since March 2, 2000 (70-69 over No. 3 Arizona).
