Head Coach Craig Robinson
On the game...
"Again, we had a drought. We had a drought to get us down 22 or whatever it was. And then to cut it back to five was just on hard work and on defense. You don't let them get that lead and the game is close for the whole time and there might be a little bit more pressure on them where they aren't as comfortable."
On leading the nation in steals but not converting them into baskets...
"If there was stat for that, we'd be leading in that. But there isn't. I can't be upset about how hard they are playing on defense. I can be upset on not converting it. But I like the hard work and if we keep doing that, we'll start to convert."
On the reason Joe Burton didn't play...
"He had a team rule violation so he didn't get to play today."
On the play of freshman Chris Brown...
"We've been bringing him along slowly. We know the things he can do. We thought when we were down however many, it would be a good opportunity to get some experience. Our guys kept fighting and he was in there while they were fighting."
On the high number of blocked shots by the Bruins...
"They did a very good job on that. We didn't do as well at dumping the ball off as we should have. I thought a couple of times we could have dumped it off to a guy whose guy came over to help out and got the block."
On the effort today playing on the road...
"I thought this effort out here was pretty good for a road game. It's getting back to where we'd like it to be. To these guys defense, we have freshmen and sophomores in there for a significant part of the time. We are trying to teach them how to play that hard all of the time and practice that hard all of the time. When you do that you start winning games on the road."
On the week off before playing Oregon next Saturday...
"This is that week when you can get some things done and work on some issues. Maybe I can as a coach figure out what to do with those stolen balls. Maybe I should steal them, bring them back out and run our half-court offense. We are getting stuff going to the basket; just not when it's a fast break."
On shooting 27 percent in the first half and being down only five points...
"You're glad that you're even in the game when you shoot that poorly. I won't say play that poorly, because we played hard; we just didn't' execute. To be only down five at the half, we were lucky and that's what hard work gets you."
