OREGON STATE
1999-00: Jones enters this season as one of the best rebounders in the Pac-10 Conference...has a knack for rebounding and keeping the ball alive, often the first player on the court to get a hand on a missed shot...also one of the best shot blockers in the conference...look for him to be more of an offensive threat this season.
1998-99: Jones averaged 5.0 points and 6.4 rebounds...he entered the Pac-10 Conference portion of the sesaon averaging 3.7 points and 4.6 rebounds, but during the league season averaged 5.7 points and 7.3 rebounds...rejected 36 shots, the eighth-highest total for a single season in OSU history...had six blocked shots vs. Oregon, matching the school record...his 6.4 rebounding average was the highest total for a season at Oregon State since the 7.5 Mustapha Hoff averaged during 1994-95...scored a career-high 20 points and had 11 rebounds at Washington State, his first career double-double...had his second double-double one game later when he had 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds vs. Arizona State...also had a 12-rebound game vs. Washington...finished 11th in the Pac-10 for rebounding, and third for blocked shots...from Jan. 16 through Feb. 13, a span of eight games, he averaged 10.0 points and 10.0 rebounds...started the last 13 games and 14 total...shot .571 (56-98) from the field.
SKYLINE
Jones played center for the Skyline College Trojans, averaging 13.6 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.7 blocked shots...he led the team for scoring, rebounding, steals, blocked shots and field goal percentage (.542)...all-conference and honorable mention all-state as a sophomore...selected Skyline's co-Most Valuable Player and the team's top defensive player...Skyline was 53-13 during his two seasons...left Skyline as the school's career record holder for games played (66) and blocked shots (222)...also finished his career second for career rebounds (612) at Skyline and seventh for scoring (893 pts)...he scored 21 points as a sophomore in games vs. De Anza and Gavilan Colleges, and 20 vs. Canada...he had 16 games of 10 or more rebounds as a sophomore, including 15 vs. Chabot and 14 against Diablo Valley...had four games of six or more blocked shots as a sophomore, including eight vs. Diablo Valley in a playoff game...he led the team in rebounding in 22 contests.

Clifton played his senior season at Kahuku High School, after playing his first three prep years at Castle High School...he was an all-state selection as a senior, and an Athlete of the Month selection by Hawaii Island Magazine.
PERSONAL
Born October 21, 1977 in San Antonio, Texas...son of William and Frances Jones...has one brother and one sister...hobbies include video games and jet skiing...Charles Barkley is his favorite athlete...he is the first Hawiian to play varsity basketball in the Pac-10 Conference since former Oregon State player Red Rocha (1945-47)...liberal studies major.
GAMES OF NOTE:
Jan. 16, 1999 at Washington State -- After scoring just 22 points in the previous nine games, Clifton scored a career-high 20 points in Pullman...he hit 8 of 11 from the field and 4 of 6 from the free throw line in just his second career start...he also snared a then career-high 11 rebounds, giving him his first OSU double-double.
Jan. 21, 1999 vs. Arizona State -- Jones followed up his 20-point, 11-rebound performance at WSU, with his second consecutive double-double...he scored 10 points and had career-high 12 rebounds in OSU's 30-point victory.
Jan. 23, 1999 vs. Arizona -- Jones corralled his biggest rebound of his OSU career and arguably the biggest rebound in a decade at OSU when he boarded the second of A.J. Bramlett's two missed free throw attempts with 3.1 seconds on the clock...for the game he had 13 points and eight rebounds in helping OSU snap a 17-game losing streak to Arizona.
