Oregon State at Washington

On the game ...
"It was all about turnovers and offensive rebounds by them. They are a momentum team so once they get going it was like we were a completely different team. We had three turnovers in the first half and were outrebounding them in the first half and in the first five minutes (of the second half) it seemed like it flip-flopped."
On trying to recover from their scoring outburst ...
"We had a couple of opportunities to cut it from 15 to 10 and we either missed a foul shot or didn't finish the and-one. It was little bitty things that can get you back into a game. We just couldn't do it. I thought that up until that point, we were scoring right along with them. When you turn the ball over and you give them more opportunities and you don't get those opportunities, it sort of widens the gap in the other direction."
On what the Beavers did to take a 9-point lead ...
"We were running our offense. We were playing D. We weren't turning the ball over. And we were getting rebounds. The complete opposite of what was going on in the second half."
On what could have been done to stop their run ...
"I called timeouts when I thought I should have. I don't think that would have stopped them at all. You have to defend these guys and play tough the entire game or a tie game will turn into a blowout in five minutes."
On what Washington did differently in the second half against the zone ...
"They started attacking it on the inside. When they do that, you have to sink in, which opens up the shooters. That's what happened."
On the mindset of the team after the loss ...
"In the old days we'd be 0-4. We are 2-2. We have more games to play. What we take from it is `don't lose.' Win your games, don't lose them, don't turn the ball over, don't let the other team outrebound you. The usual stuff. We are still in the mix. We are 2-2. Other than this half, we are getting better."
