Team Notes
Oregon State led the nation in steals entering the game at 10.87 per game and had 15 steals against the Bruins. The Beavers have 15 or more steals in a game six times this season.
The Beavers shot a season-low 32.3 percent (20-62) from the field and have shot below 40 percent in three consecutive games after doing that just once in the first 13 games (38.9% at Colorado).
This is the first game all season that only one Oregon State player has scored in double-figures (Nelson 13).
The Beavers were outscored 20-12 in the paint and outrebounded 23-11 in the first half, but outscored the Bruins 20-12 in the paint and outrebounded them 23-18 in the second half.
Player Notes
Freshman Roberto Nelson played a career-high 24 minutes and scored in double-figures for the second consecutive game and the fifth time in his nine games played this season.
Sophomore Jared Cunningham had six steals and moved into third place on the Oregon State sophomore steals chart with 52 on the season. Gary Payton holds the sophomore steals record with 72.
Cunningham is now on pace to finish the season with 98 steals through 30 games, which would be second to Payton's school single-season record of 100 steals.
Cunningham tied a career-high with five assists.
Sophomore Joe Burton tied a career-high with three steals.
Senior Omari Johnson led the team in rebounding for the 11th time in 16 games this season.
