Recap | Final Stats | Notes
OREGON STATE HEAD COACH Craig Robinson
On the game…
“You cannot have any lapses in conferences games because people take advantage of it. You cannot 0-4 from the free throw line in the first half. We try to emphasize to the guys how every single thing is important for us.”
On the team making adjustments throughout game…
“It's the little things that we are still trying to command, we don't have a command of the game yet because we are still in reactionary mode. “We are always confident if we have an opportunity to get to the locker room to make some adjustments, that we are going to make them and the guys are going to execute them. You can't be down so far that you spend all your energy coming back.”
On the shot discrepancy during the game…
“We are all players, and we had just as many, if not more. opportunities to get shots up, and make them. We took 51 shots, and they only took 35. It's disappointing not to win a game with that kind of discrepancy.”
OREGON STATE FRESHMAN Jared Cunningham
His opinion on the game…
“We just have to put this behind us. They came out a little more aggressive then us in the second half and knocked down a few shots, unfortunately. We just look forward to the next game, take one day at a time and one practice at a time and just be prepared for Oregon when they come here.”
When our zone was attacked on defense…
“We just need to talk a little more on the defensive end. They got behind us on a couple of them which led to them getting easy layups through the back door.”
On the next game at home…
“Oregon coming here will be big for us. We already played them at their house and beat them so I guess they'll be prepared for us and will try to come here and get a win to take back to Eugene, but if we come out hard and execute the way we know how then we should be able to come out with the win.”
OREGON STATE SENIOR Seth Tarver
On UCLA's offense and figuring out our zone…
“They made some shots which made it tough. They scouted us well and they attacked some of the weaknesses and they just hustled.”
On them figuring out our defense in the second half…
“There was a streak where we had some errors, and they capitalized on our errors. After that we were solid but during that one streak they opened up the game and we weren't able to come back in.”
On our shooting percentage…
“It was an off night and we missed some easy shots and also against the zone we got stagnant and then we had to take some tough shots against the shot clock. If we would have attacked earlier and not been so stagnant then we wouldn't have had to take such tough shots but that's just what happened.”
General sentiment about the game and the upcoming game at Oregon…
“We won one game against USC on Thursday and then lost this game so really we just have to focus on taking it one game at a time. It would be nice to win two games in a weekend but we still have to take it one game at a time. Going into the next game we're ready to play, just taking it one game at a time. The Pac-10 is crazy so everybody's losing and anything can happen on any night so just take it one game at a time. Don't get ahead of ourselves, just get back to practice and do what we've been doing.”
