TIME: 1:00 PDT
SITE: Reser Stadium
RADIO: None
TV: Delayed, Fox Sports Net, for showing at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30
TICKETS: Admission to Saturday's Spring Game will be free.
TELEVISION: Oregon State's final Spring Game will be televised by Fox Sports Net on a delayed basis to be played on Sunday, April 30, starting at 1:00 p.m. Scott Lynn will call the play-by-play and Steve Preece will provide the color.
GAME FORMAT: Coach Dennis Erickson plans to have his squad play a full game with 12-minute quarters, rather than the regulation 15-minute quarters. There will be no live kickoffs, but there will be live punts with fair catches only. Erickson plans to divide his squad into two teams (Black shirts and White shirts) for the Spring Game. Erickson and his staff will hold a draft on Tuesday to select the two squads.
INJURY UPDATE: Oregon State will have two players held out of Saturday's Spring Game, linebacker Calvin Carlyle, who has missed the entire spring while recovering from surgery on his left shoulder. Tailback Patrick McCall has missed practice the past two weeks while recovering from an ankle (left) sprain. McCall is probable for Saturday's Spring Game.
FOUR SIGN AS FREE AGENTS: A total of four former Oregon State players have signed professional contracts as free agents in the NFL. Offensive linemen Aaron Koch (guard-center) and Jason White (tackle) have both signed as free agents with the Tennessee Titans. Wide receiver Imani Percoats has signed with the Washington Redskins, while linebacker Jonathan Jackson signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
HOUSE MOVES UP DEPTH CHART: There has not been a lot of movement on the Oregon State depth chart the past week, but one change did take place at quarterback. Redshirt freshman Shayne House has moved to No. 2 on the depth chart behind Jonathan Smith, with Nick Stremick listed No. 3 and Tyler Thomas No. 4. After moving to No. 2 on the depth chart, House took advantage of his new status in last Thursday's scrimmage by completing 6 of his first 7 passes and finishing the scrimmage with 7 completion sin 11 attempts for 70 yards and a17-yard touchdown pass to Shawn Kintner.
SMITH HAVING SOLID SPRING: Jonathan Smith has enjoyed an outstanding spring and continues to solidify his hold as the No. 1 quarterback. In three scrimmages this spring, Smith has not been intercepted and has continually moved the No. 1 offensive unit down the field for scores. In three scrimmages, Smith has completed 16 of 32 passes for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns.
SEIGLER IMPRESSIVE: Another redshirt freshman, Richard Seigler, is taking advantage of his opportunity. Seigler was moved to the No. 1 middle linebacker spot following the injury to Tevita Moala and he has been impressive, especially in the Beavers' last scrimmage, April 20. In that scrimmage, Seigler scored a touchdown on a 53-yard fumble return, had two tackles for loss, plus a sack.
