Women’s Rowing Ready for Big Ten Invite
April 17, 2025 | Women's Rowing
SARASOTA, Fla. – Oregon State women's rowing is competing in the Big Ten Invite this weekend, set to take place across two days of racing in Sarasota, Fla.
There will be four boats in action, a first and second eight as well as a first and second four. Action commences with the 2V4 at 9:10 a.m. eastern time on Friday as the Beavs, racing in lane five, will match up against SMU, UCLA, Tennessee, Ohio State and Michigan State; the 1V4 (9:20 a.m.), 2V8 (9:30 a.m.) and 1V8 (9:40 a.m.) will immediately follow in the same lane against the same opponents.
Each of the four Oregon State boats will be back in action in the same order starting at 5:45 p.m. eastern on Friday, racing out of lane four against Michigan State, Notre Dame, USC, Minnesota and Clemson.
On Saturday, the Beavs are slated to start at 9:40 a.m. against USC, Rutgers, Duke, Indiana and Alabama in the same 2V4-1V4-2V8-1V8 order.
Oregon State was last in action at Washington State on April 5, winning six out of seven head-to-head races, including both varsity eight boats and the second four, as the 1V8+ was named West Coast Conference Crew of the Week for the second-consecutive week, as the win over WSU was its second-consecutive ranked win, having defeated the 21st-ranked Gonzaga varsity eight before downing the Cougs' 24th-ranked crew.
Dating back to the fall head races, at least one boat has claimed victory in every single regatta this season, six in total, which includes a combined seven wins between just the first and second eight. In the spring season, OSU's second eight has won in every regatta.
The Beavs return to action in two weeks at home, hosting a regatta at Dexter Reservoir on May 3.
