Beavers Place 17th at 2026 NCAA Championships
May 31, 2026 | Women's Rowing
GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Oregon State women's rowing placed 17th at the 2026 NCAA Championships this weekend, all three boats finishing the weekend's racing ranked in the top-20 to cap off the Beavers' second-consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships.
"Strong overall performance by Beaver Women's Rowing – it was a good day to be a Beav," Director of Rowing Michael Eichler said. "The varsity four led the way with a program-best 13th place finish, winning the C final, and the program bested our team performance from last year by one place while two of our three boats also improved upon last year's finish, which is a testament to the increasing depth of this program and following through on the ethos of 'bottom up, top down.'
"Many people have reached out with words of encouragement and belief in these Beaver Athletes. We are grateful for their support," Eichler added. "This community backing makes a significant impact and positive difference for our student-athletes. Thank you Beaver Nation."
OSU's varsity four led the way, winning Sunday's "C" Final to finish as the country's 13th-ranked 1V4 thanks to a 6:53.095. Coming off a dominant performance at the WCC Championship, the four placed fourth in the heats and first in the semifinal round, besting the likes of Central Florida, Boston and Jacksonville on the way to a program-best finish.
Ranking No. 18 after Sunday's performance was the 2V8, who bested Boston, Jacksonville (twice) and Rhode Island on their way to a 6:23.481, placing sixth in the C Final after fourth and third place finished in the heats and C/D semifinal on Friday.
The Beaver varsity eight capped off NCAA racing at 9:12 a.m. Sunday, rowing all 2,000 meters in 6:05.314 to earn a 17th-place finish as a boat in the overall rankings. A unit that featured seniors Taylor Denger, Giulia Clerici, Rhi Loughnan, Margo Calub and Ashtyn Miller, OSU earned its place in the C Final with wins over Jacksonville and Rhode Island Friday before finishing ahead of Northeastern on Sunday.
With 38 points in the team standings and a 17th place finish, Oregon State women's rowing notched a five-point improvement after 33 points and an 18th place finish in 2025.
With the NCAA Championships complete, Oregon State women's rowing has officially concluded its 2026 Spring championship season.
