SERIES OUTLOOK:
• Friday's game marks the 132nd meeting between the Beavers and Wildcats.
• The two sides split four meetings in 2022 and met in the Women's College World Series last June. OSU and Arizona were two of three schools in Oklahoma City from the Pac-12.
• OSU took the series over the Wildcats in Corvallis but Arizona eliminated the Beavers with a 3-1 win in Oklahoma City.
Â
WASHINGTON LOOKBACK:
• The Beavers salvaged the series finale with a run-rule win over Washington by an 11-1 line.
• Hammoude batted in six runs - including four in the third inning - with her two-run homer to help the Beavs upset the Huskies in the Sunday matchup.
Â
Â
HAMMOUDE, THE HOME RUN QUEEN
• Frankie Hammoude broke the school's record for home runs in a career with 53 after her shot to center in the finale over No. 9 Washington
• She broke Tarrah Beyster's mark of 52, which stood untouched since she graduated in 2000.
•The Oakland, Calif., native has slugged double-digit homers in each of her four full seasons in Corvallis: 11, 17, 15 and 10.
• She sits in first for homers in a season with 17, set in 2021. Not to be outdone, her 15 round-trippers in 2022 are the fourth most in a season.
Â
Â
FROM THE PLATE:
• Hammoude leads the squad with 10 homers but Abby Doerr sits just one longball behind with eight.
• Not only is Doerr good at hitting long balls, she's leading the team with 25 runners batted in while Hammoude trails with 24.
• Hammoude batted in six runs in the 11-1 win over Washington and had four in the third inning alone.
• Messmer's bat has heated up against the always-tough Pac-12 opponents. The Cloverdale, B.C. product has reached base safely in 14 of 15 league games and multiple hits in four of those.
Â
Â
FROM THE CIRCLE:
• OSU has a pair from the 2022 WCWS squad: Tarni Stepto and Sarah Haendiges.
• Stepto leads the staff with 101 Ks - including a season-best of 10 against Cal in the series finale.
• Garcia's shutout of Oregon marked her first start in which she did not allow a run. She was perfect through 4.1 frames before surrendering a single to right field in the fifth.
• In her two starts against the Ducks, Garcia allowed just three hits and fanned five.
