Big Performances by Butler and Murray Help Beavers Secure Series Victory

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Jaeya Butler drove in a pair of RBI and Bailey Murray struck out five across 6.2 innings of a 4-1 win over Loyola Marymount Saturday, securing a series victory in the team's final matchup of the 2026 season.
Down by one in the fifth inning, Butler singled down the right field line to score one, later coming across the plate on an error by the LMU infield to help the Beavers take a 2-1 lead. With two down in the sixth, the Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native added a much-needed insurance run, singling through the left side to make it 3-1 in favor of OSU.
With Saturday's 3-4 performance, Butler finishes her junior campaign having rewritten the Beavers' record book, setting single season records for home runs (23), RBI (61), total bases (157) and slugging percentage (.882) while also posting top-10 marks for batting average (.393, tied for fifth), hits (70 – eighth) doubles (16 – tied for second), and runs scored (49 – third).
Murray made her 17th start of the season and earned win number eight thanks to five strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched, allowing one earned run and five hits across 29 total batters faced. The Redondo Beach, Calif., native, finishes her freshman season as the pitching staff's leader in total appearances (40), starts (17), innings pitched (117.2) and strikeouts (81).
Tristian Thompson tallied another multi-hit performance, going 2-4, while Paige Bambarger and Camrynn Gordon were both 1-2 with a run scored; Gordon also drove in a run in the seventh inning and Bambarger totaled two bases on balls. Morgan Howey and Nikki Donahue both recorded a hit in their final collegiate appearances to help the Beavers out-hit LMU 9-6.
Haydn Milley was credited with her third save of the season, allowing one hit in one third of an inning.
Saturday's game against the Lions officially concluded Oregon State's stint in the West Coast Conference as the Beavers will return to action in the revamped Pac-12 Conference in 2027.
