May 14, 2026 | Softball
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Madison Weir has been named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team with Paige Bambarger, Morgan Howey and Tristian Thompson earning Honorable Mention honors, the conference announced Thursday.
Weir finished her senior season with a .275 average across 33 appearances, totaling seven doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI while leading all catchers with 29 starts. With eight multi-hit performances, the Wayne, N.J., native had a season-high three hits in OSU's 17-0 win over Bethune Cookman on Feb. 21.
Thursday's announcement is the second All Conference Academic award of her collegiate career.
Bambarger hit .289 in 2026, starting 30 of her 35 total appearances in the Oregon State infield. She homered April 25 in a 13-9 win over Seattle U and tied for the team lead with three triples this season. A sophomore from Murrieta, Calif., this is Bambarger's first career All-Conference Academic award.
Howey was recently named Second Team All-Conference after a standout senior season, hitting .325 with 12 doubles, 11 home runs and 32 RBI for an Oregon State offense that set a program record for home runs in a single season with 62. Howey, originally from Arcadia, Calif., was also an All-Conference Academic Honorable Mention selection last season.
Thompson finished second on the team and third in the conference with 13 home runs in 2026, driving in 41 RBI and slugging .526. This being the first All-Conference Academic award of her career, Thompson had a multi-home run performance in a March 14 win over Weber State and had seven performances with three or more runs batted in – including a season and career best five at Idaho State.
