SERIES OUTLOOK:

• Oregon State will welcome Washington to Kelly Field this weekend.
• Washington took last season's series in Seattle with three one-run wins, including an extra-inning affair in the finale.
• Coach Berg's squad will look to snap a four-game skid against Washington.
• OSU will have a week away from competing after this series and before the three-game set against Arizona in Tucson.
Â
UCLA LOOKBACK:
• OSU dropped the road series to #3 UCLA in Westwood in a series - the third league series of 2023.
• Grace Messmer had a 5-for-8 performance - good for a .625 average - against the Bruins.
Â
Â
HAMMOUDE AND THE HOME RUN CROWN
• Frankie Hammoude smashed the 52nd longball of her career in the Thursday evening tilt with UCLA.
• She tied Tarrah Beyster's mark of 52, which stood untouched since she graduated in 2000.
• Hammoude has hit five home runs - including a pair in the series against Cal - in league play to chip away at Beyster's mark.
• She sits in first for homers in a season with 17, set in 2021. Not to be outdone, her 15 round-trippers in 2022 are the fourth most in a season.
Â
Â
FROM THE PLATE:
• Hammoude leads the squad with nine homers but Abby Doerr sits just one longball behind with eight.
• Not only is Doerr good at hitting long balls, she's leading the team with 23 runners batted in.
• Messmer's bat has heated up against the always-tough Pac-12 opponents. The Cloverdale, B.C. product has hits in 11 of 12 league games and multiple hits in four.
• Kaiea Higa has been making quite the first-year impact for the offense. The Washingtonian is batting nearly .300 at .297.
Â
FROM THE CIRCLE:
• OSU has a pair from the 2022 WCWS squad: Tarni Stepto and Sarah Haendiges.
• Stepto leads the staff with 91 Ks - including a season-best of 10 against Cal in the series finale.
• Garcia's shutout of Oregon marked her first start in which she did not allow a run. She was perfect through 4.1 frames before surrendering a single to right field in the fifth.
• In her two starts against the Ducks, Garcia allowed just three hits and fanned five.
