CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Oregon State softball team, fresh off its first homestand, will head back on the road to continue the 2023 season at nationally-ranked Stanford.

SERIES OUTLOOK:
• Oregon State will be back on the road this weekend in California to take on #6/7 Stanford.
• Last season, the Beavers clinched their second-ever trip to the Women's College World Series after sweeping the Cardinal in Stanford last May.
• OSU took four of five from Stanford in 2022, which included a series win at Kelly Field.
• The Cardinal come into the series with a 24-3 record, including a 2-1 mark in Pac-12 play. They took two of three from Oregon in Eugene last weekend.

CAL LOOKBACK:
• OSU split the three-game set with Cal which was highlighted by the fourth consecutive win in the home opener.
• Eliana Gottlieb's single down the right field line drove in Erin Mendoza for the winning run in the 6th as OSU took the opener by a 2-1 margin.
• Tarni Stepto fanned a season-high 10 batters and the offense sparked in the late innings for a 5-5 tie in the series finale.
• Sunday's contest ended without a winner due to the Pac-12's timing rule.

TIDBITS ON TIES:
• The tie on Sunday marked the first for the program since a 6-6 deadlock with #21 Fresno State in March 2016.
• Two of the eight ties in program history have come in the Laura Berg era.
• A pair have been scoreless: 2001 v. DePaul and 1997 v. Oregon.
• The second game of the new millennium (2/5/00) was a 4-4 result against CSUN.
• 1982's tie was a 3-3 affair with Portland State.
• The Beavs tied Nevada by a 4-4 line on the way to the 1979 WCWS.
• OSU's first stalemate in history was a 5-5 deadlock with Western Oregon in 1977.

HAMMOUDE AND THE HOME RUN CROWN
• Frankie Hammoude sits three home runs away from the top of the school record for a career.
• Tarrah Beyster's mark of 52 has stood untouched since she left Corvallis after 1997-2000.
• Hammoude launched a pair of home runs in the series against Cal to chip away at Beyster's mark.
• She sits in first for homers in a season with 17, set in 2021. Not to be outdone, her 15 round-trippers in 2022 are the fourth most in a season.

FROM THE PLATE:
• OSU blasted three homers this weekend with two by Hammoude and one by Abby Doerr.
• Hammoude's seven and Doerr's six lead the Beavs so far.
• Hammoude has been no stranger to reaching base - she has
• Kaiea Higa - a freshman - has made an impact for the team, batting a team-best .309, hitting three home runs and driving in 11 runs. She's appeared in 25 of the 26 games and has made 22 starts.

• OSU will have a pair return from the 2022 WCWS squad: Tarni Stepto and Sarah Haendiges.
• Stepto leads the staff with 61 Ks - including a season-best of 10 against Cal in the series finale.
• The junior from Australia has held batters to just a .196 batting average.
