CONFERENCE OF CHAMPIONS
The Pac-12 has long been one of the top women's basketball leagues in the country. Since 2015-16, it leads all conferences in Final Four appearances (7), non-conference winning percentage (.799), NCAA Tournament wins (76), NCAA Tournament winning percentage (.685) and WBCA All-Americans (15).
Â
This season, Pac-12 teams finished with a national-best .852 (115-20) non-conference winning percentage this season, ahead of the ACC (.818, 139-31), Big 12 (.802, 93-23), SEC (.794, 143-37), Big East (.760, 79-25) and Big Ten (.757, 115-37). The league's .852 clip is a new Pac-12 record, bettering the .848 mark (117-21) from 2016-17 when seven teams earned NCAA Tournament berths.
Â
THE NOTHING HAZY IPA
There's nothing hazy about Raegan Beers' case to be the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. She has been the both league's best and most valuable freshman through 18 games this season. Beers entered the weekend leading qualifying league freshmen in ten traditional and advanced statistical categories: rebounds per game (8.3), offensive rebounds per game (3.3), field goal percentage (57.4) EFG% (57.4), points per play (1.05), usage rate (26.4%), PER (33.7), win shares (4.9), offensive rating (117.7) and of course double-doubles (10).
Â
Beers also ranks in the top three among league freshme in points per game (13.1) and blocks per game (0.6).
CERTIFIED BUCKET-GETTER
Talia Von Oelhoffen joined an exclusive list of Rueck-era Beavers when she scored 31 points against USC last season. Only six other Beavs have scored 30+ over the last 13 seasons: Jamie Weisner, Marie Gulich, Aleah Goodman, Ruth Hamblin, Kat Tudor and Destiny Slocum. Even among that highly-touted group, von Oelhoffen now stands alone as the first Beaver under Rueck to score 30+ multiple times in her career after dropping 32 on Eastern Washington and 41 on Nevada this season. She is the 10th Beaver to score 30+ points 3-or-more times in her career and the first since Kim Butler ('04-'06)
