Oregon State Adds French Wing Genesia Mayele
May 14, 2026 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State added French wing Genesia Mayele to its 2026-27 roster on Thursday.
The 6-foot-1 wing most recently played for Pays Voironnais Basket Club (PVBC) in France's LF2. She is an incoming freshman
"Genesia is a dynamic, versatile guard who scores at all three levels. An imposing, impactful defender and a force on the boards, she impacts the game on both ends of the floor. I am thrilled to welcome her to our basketball family," head coach Scott Rueck said.
"I chose Oregon State because the basketball program shares my goals and allows me to play at a good level and improve as a player. Finally, I like the campus and the environment, and I can't wait to join my new family," Mayele said.
Mayele spent the 2025-26 season playing in France's LF2 professional league. She played eight games with Le Harve, averaging 12.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and a steal per game while shooting 40 percent from the floor and 31.2 percent from three.
The French national played the remainder of the season – 18 contests - with PVBC. Contributing to winning for the league's second-place team, she averaged 5.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.8 steals per game while making 41.8 percent of her shots. The freshman was a force on the offensive glass with 46 of her 110 rebounds providing second chances over the full season.
Mayele's season-high in scoring came against Mandeville when she scored 18 points on 5-for-9 shooting with a 2-for-3 day from three. She had a 17-point, 13-rebound double-double against Bihorel in the season opener.
Mayele joins an Oregon State roster that returns eight players – including All-WCC choices Kennedie Shuler and Jenna Villa - from last season's 23-11 campaign and added a talented group of four freshmen for its return season in the Pac-12 in 2026-27.
