MEET THE OPPONENT
Duke also just lost for the first time in 2022 on Friday, falling 78-50 to No. 3 UConn. The Blue Devils have not yet had a game decided by fewer than 10 points, winning five blowouts before Friday. They are paced by a strong defense that entered the weekend holding opponents to 47.4 points per game on 29.8 percent shooting.
Â
STARTING FIVE
» OSU will look to rebound from its first loss of 2022-23, a battle with #9 Iowa where the Hawkeyes pulled away late.
» Shalexxus Aaron played her best game in an Oregon State uniform on Friday against Iowa, scoring 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting
» The Beavs will have a chance to get an attention-grabbing win on Sunday against a Duke team receiving votes in the AP Top 25
» The PK Legacy Tournament marks a homecoming for Portland-native Bendu Yeaney, who made her Beaver debut last Saturday against PVAMU (7pt, 6reb, 2stl)
» Today's game is OSU's second of 13 against teams currently ranked or receiving votes in the AP Top 25
Â
MAKING THEM EARN IT
Keeping opponents off the scoreboard starts with keeping them off the free throw line. The Beavs have been one of the best teams in the country at that in the Rueck era. Over the last 12 seasons, only 13 power conference teams have averaged under 13 fouls per game over the course of a single season. Oregon State is the only team to do it four times (2016-17, 17-18, 19-20, 21-22). So far in 2022, the Beavs are averaging 12.04 fouls per game
Â
SHE'S THE MANNEN
Noelle Mannen transferred to OSU four years ago and walked on after a year at San Francisco. Since then, she's become an important on and off-court leader for the Beavs, earning a scholarship before last season and getting her first start against Hawai'i. So far in 2022, Mannen leads the Beavs in plus-minus as OSU is +65 with her on the floor.
