Beavers Fall To Oregon In Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – Roman Silva scored a career-high 17 points in a 78-56 loss to Oregon on Saturday evening in Eugene.

Oregon State led 17-16 after Maurice Calloo hit a 3-pointer, but Jacob Young followed with five straight points before Eric Williams Jr. scored to put the Ducks ahead 23-17.

Oregon shot 54.5% from the field in the first half to take a 44-25 halftime lead after Williams Jr. beat the buzzer with a 60-foot shot.

Silva went 7-for-13 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free throw line for his career-best 17 points. His previous career high was 16 points against Tennessee in last season's NCAA Tournament when he went 8-for-8 from the field.

Jarod Lucas finished with 12 points, Dexter Akanno had 10 and Maurice Calloo came off the bench to finish with nine points.

The Beavers (3-15, 1-7 Pac-12) grabbed a season-high 19 offensive rebounds and outscored the Ducks 20-8 on second chance points.

Young scored 17 points, Will Richardson added 15 and Williams Jr. and De'Vion Harmon chipped in 14 apiece to lead Oregon (13-7, 6-3 Pac-12).

Oregon State will head to the Mountain schools next week with games at Utah at 6 p.m. PT on Thursday (ESPNU) and at Colorado at 3 p.m. PT on Saturday (FS1).
