Beavers Drop Road Matchup to Washington State

PULLMAN, Wash. – The No. 21 Oregon State women's basketball team suffered a road defeat Saturday afternoon, as the Beavers fell to Washington State 61-55 in Pullman, Wash.

Taylor Jones finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks, going 6-for-8 from the floor. Sasha Goforth tallied 14 points, four assists and three blocks, while Aleah Goodman went for 14 points, three rebounds and two steals.

Ellie Mack finished with eight points and eight rebounds.

As a team, Oregon State shot 46 percent from the floor, while holding Washington State to 33 percent shooting.

The Beavers got off to a hot start, scoring the first seven points of the contest, but the Cougars battled back to take an 11-10 lead late in the first quarter. Washington State led 16-14 heading to the second frame.

Washington State took a 35-25 lead into the break.

Oregon State scored the first 10 points of the second half to level the score. The Beavers headed to the closing frame in front 43-42.

OSU went in front 52-48 mid-way through the fourth quarter. The game was level with just over two minutes to play, but the Cougars were able to take the six-point win.

The Beavers will head across the state on Monday for a matchup with Washington in Seattle.
