Beavers Going For Road Sweep Saturday At Cal

THE GAME: Oregon State (13-8, 3-6 Pac-12) goes for its first road sweep of the Bay Area schools since 2008-09 when it takes on California (9-11, 3-4 Pac-12) at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley.

Since the 1994-95 season, the Golden Bears are 17-3 on their home court in the series with the Oregon State wins coming in 1998, 2006 and 2009. Cal has won 11 of the last 13 games, including a 2-0 mark in the Pac-12 Tournament.

The teams played once last season with the Beavers winning 79-71 on Feb. 9 at Gill Coliseum to snap a six-game losing streak in the series. Stephen Thompson Jr. scored a game-high 21 points, Ethan Thompson finished with 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Tres Tinkle added 19 points. Justice Sueing and Darius McNeill scored 16 points apiece to lead the Golden Bears.
