Alex McGarry hit his sixth home run of the season but it wasn't enough as the Beavers dropped the opener at Arizona State, 4-1, Friday night in Phoenix. McGarry's home run came in the second and put the Beavers on the board first.

Opener Note
Oregon State lost the series opener to the Sun Devils for the first time since the 2012 season, a series sweep for ASU. The Beavers have since won for of the last six series between the teams.

He's now retired the first batter he has faced in relief four times in five relief outs. He has also inherited six runners, with none scoring.
