Pivec Nets Triple-Double as Beavers Blow Out Concordia

Oregon State returns to Gill Monday vs. the USA Women's National Team
CORVALLIS – The No. 6/7 Oregon State women's basketball team tallied another dominating exhibition performance on Friday evening, as the Beavers took down Concordia (Ore.) 106-45 at Gill Coliseum.

Senior Mikayla Pivec put up a triple-double, going for 14 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Redshirt-junior Destiny Slocum led all scorers with 24 points, knocking down six 3-pointers and dishing out nine assists.

Freshman Taylor Jones followed her 27-point outing on Sunday by going for 15 points and eight rebounds. The center earned the start and hit seven of her nine field goal attempts to go with five blocks.

Junior Aleah Goodman recorded 14 points and six assists. Sophomore Jasmine Simmons notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.

As a team, the Beavers shot 55.7 percent from the floor, while holding Concordia to 19.1 percent shooting. Oregon State also dominated the glass, out-rebounding the Cavaliers 63-34.

The Beavers exploded out of the gate, taking a 15-2 lead within the first three minutes. Oregon State parlayed that into a 32-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter. OSU headed to the break up 57-25.

Slocum led the Beavers with 19 first-half points, while Pivec headed to the intermission with nine points, eight rebounds and five assists.

The second half featured more of the same, as Oregon State extended the lead to 84-39 at the end of the third quarter. The Beavers out-scored Concordia 22-6 in the closing period to wrap up the 61-point victory.
