Dawson, Sidor Set School Records at Pac-12 Championships

STANFORD, Calif. – Highlighted by Destiny Dawson and Annie Sidor's record-setting performances, the Oregon State University track & field team wrapped up day one of competition at the Pac-12 Conference Track & Field Championships at Stanford University.
The Beavers currently sit in 10th place overall with 16 team points. Stanford leads the way after the first day with 71 points, while USC is in second with 44 points.
Junior javelin thrower Dawson took a 3rd place finish earning the Beavers six team points on the first day of competition in Stanford after her record-setting throw in the event. She broke her own school record by two inches which she set earlier this year throwing 168' 11". Â Junior Delaney Hall earned four team points for OSU taking 5th place with a throw of 152' 11".
Senior pole vaulter Annie Sidor tied the Oregon State school record in the event taking an 8th place finish after being seeded 16th entering the championships. Sidor exploded for a clear of 12' 10.25" beating her previous best in the event by nearly five inches. The Bend, Ore. native earned one team point for the Beavers. Sophomore Tory Edwards upped her fourth-best all-time mark in the event taking 11th place at 12' 6.25".
Oregon State had two athletes whose times put them in the all-time top-10 in the 800 meters, while Nicole Goecke placed fifth in the prelims at 2:07.85 earning a place in the finals tomorrow. Senior Kala Kopecek jumped farther up the list to third all-time running 2:09.21 for a 12th place finish. Freshman Rebecca Ledsham had a great run in her first conference championships running 2:11.72 for the eighth-best time in OSU history.
Saskia McNairy set the final all-time top-10 mark on the day in the long jump recording the sixth-best jump of 19' 1.5" finishing in 11th place. Ann Wingeleth took a 9th place finish jumping 19' 3.5" just missing the top-8 for team points.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase senior Kristiane Width scored three team points for the Beavers with a 6th place finish running a time of 10:26.32. Junior Juliana Mount also ran the event for the second time this season after battling back from an early season injury coming in 11th place at 10:40.17.
