Beavers Set to Host Series with Arizona State

TICKETS ON SALE NOW
• Tickets to select Oregon State softball games are now on sale at BeaverTickets.com/softball
• Tickets can be purchased for the two-game slate against Oklahoma (April 20-21)
• General admission for adults will be $9 per game, youth (ages 3-18)/senior (ages 62 ) tickets will be $7 per game, and groups of 12 or more will be $5 each
• Package deals will be available for all five games: adults - $35, youth/senior - $30
• Oklahoma series only: adult - $16, youth/senior - $12
• Seating at the Oregon State Softball Complex is all general admission, overflow seating will be standing room only on the grass berm beyond the outfield wall, folding charis will be allowed on the grass berm
• Student tickets have to be picked up in person at the complex starting one hour prior to first pitch
• Sales, will call and student tickets will be located at the front gate , the back gate will be closed for public entrance
• Cash or check requred for tickets purchased at the venue, while one window will be open at the southeast ticket booth of Reser Stadium for credit card sales
• The remaining home series against Cal (March 16-18), Arizona State (April 6-8), Portland State (April 17) and Washington (May 4-6) will be free to the public
REWIND
• Oregon State continued Pacific-12 Conference play with a 1-2 series loss to No. 2/5 Oregon Ducks (27-6, 4-2 Pac-12)
• The Beavers fell in game one of the #CivilWarSeries by a score of 4-1
• Camryn Ybarra had the only run for the Beavers in the game with a solo shot over the right field wall, her second home run in back-to-back games
• Alysha Everett and Missy Nunes each had one hit in a tough outing for the Beavers
• Meehra Nelson pitched a complete game racking up six strikeouts
• In the second game, the Beavers beat the Ducks for the first time since March 2012 with a walk-off RBI in the bottom of the seventh inning
• Everett went 2-for-3 in the outing
• Hope Brandner drove in the game-winning run with a single to center field in the bottom of the seventh inning
• Sara Lillie had a day driving in two runs in the fourth inning pushing the Beavers out to a 3-0 lead
• Mariah Mazon got the nod in the second game going 4.2 innings with two Ks and two earned runs; Nelson picked up her 11th win of the season in 2.1 innings of relief while striking out two
• In the final game of the series Oregon State jumped on top in the third inning behind a McKenna Arriola home run (3)
• Oregon tied the game in the fifth and won on a grand slam in the eighth inning
• Arriola led the Beavers in game three going 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored
• Mazon pitched a 8.0 inning complete game with four strikeouts

• The Beavers are back home in Corvallis for the second-straight week for a three game series with No. 7/7 Arizona State Sun Devils.
• Oregon State battles No. 7/7 Arizona State Sun Devils (31-4, 5-1) in the fourth Pac-12 Conference series for the Beavs

BEAVERS IMPRESSIONS
• Upperclassmen lead the way as McKenna Arriola, Alysha Everett and Jessica Garcia have started every game so far in 2018, with Meehra Nelson and Mariah Mazon anchoring the rotation
• Shelby Weeks, Kayleen Shafer have started in everygame they have appeared in (30, 28)
• Camryn Ybarra has played in 33 games as a true freshman and started 32 of those. She hit her first career homerun at No. 4 UCLA on March. 26 and followed that up in the next game with a solo shot against No. 2/5 Oregon
• Arriola has showcased her speed on the base paths with the third-most stolen bases in the Pac-12 (14); she also leads the team with nine doubles, good enough for sixth in the Pac-12
• Weeks is still the only Beaver to reach every base from the batters box, with 23 hits, three doubles, a triple and two home runs in 2018
• Garcia has started every game in center field but one and is tied for a team-high in hits with 34 with Everett
• Missy Nunes has started all 35 games at third base, and is one of only two Beavers to start in every game at the same poisition (Arriola, SS)
• Hope Brandner leads the Beavers in multiple offensive categories: RBI (20), Home Runs (7), Slugging Percentage (.521)
• Nelson owns 345 career strikeouts with 81 on the year so far, Mazon tied Nelson for team-high strikeouts this past weekend against Oregon; she sits at 81 in her freshman season
• Five true freshman have seen extended action on the field for Oregon State, one of which has started in every game
• Missy Nunes has started every game, Camryn Ybarra has started in 32 games all at second base
• Meehra Nelson has pitched her way to the top of the rotation for the Beavers, Nelson is tied for most starts (13) and strikeouts (81), leads OSU in wins (11), and lowest ERA (2.10), shutouts (3)
• Mazon owns four saves and an 8-9 record behind a 2.61 ERA and 81 strikeouts in a team-leading 110.0 innings pitched, 20.0 innings more than second-highest Nelson (90.0)
• The freshman Nunes brings the power with four homers, a .271 average and a .448 slugging percentage. She has five doubles and 12 RBI
• Ybarra has started 32 games at second base and is hitting .219 with eight walks, eight RBI, eight runs scored and two home runs
• Kayleen Shafer has started 28 games behind the plate and has already thrown out a conference-leading eight runners attempting to steal
• Shafer threw out eight base runners as a sophomore in 2017 and gunned down nine as a freshman in 2016
• Sara Lillie has begun to see playing time behind the plate with eight starts; she holds a .259 BA with five RBI
• Michelle Sass' bat has come alive as of late moving her batting average up to .232; she has two home runs in the last three series, and has nine RBI
• The Beavers are ranked for the fourth-straight week in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll (25)
• Ranked No. 15 in the RPI, the highest ranking for OSU since the metric began being recorded in 2007
• The Beavers improve to 6-14 versus ranked opponents this season with wins against (Oklahoma State, California, BYU, and Oregon)
• OSU beat rival Oregon for the first time since March of 2012 with a thrilling 4-3 walk-off win on March 30th.
• Everett is leading the squad with a current hitting streak of four games. Nunes holds the season-high of an eight-game streak
• Laura Berg was named a head coach for the USA Softball Women's National Team for the summer of 2018. Berg previously spent the summer as the head coach for the US

• Head coach Laura Berg hung up her cleats after nearly 20-years of playing softball and spent a year with the LAPD in 2010-11 before returning to the game as an assistant coach for the 2012 season at Oregon State
• Associate head coach Marcie Green also has experience with law enforcement. Green studied criminology at Fresno State and spent five years as a prison guard at Corcoran State Prison in California following graduation before starting coaching
• Assistant coach Adam DeRusha joins the 2018 squad after spending the past two years as a graduate assistant at LSU and spending two years at Florida when the Gators were crowned national champions in 2014 and 2015
• Volunteer assistant coach Mikiah Smith is back for his 11th season, while Director of Operations Heather Smith is back for her 17th season

• The Purple and Gold Challenge in Baton Rouge, La., features 2017 WCWS participant LSU along with 2017 NCAA Regional foe Louisiana Tech
• The Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic has 2017 NCAA Super Regional foes Tennessee and Auburn along with Oklahoma State again
• The San Diego Classic features 2017 NCAA Regional participant Minnesota, while OSU wraps up the non-conference schedule against 2017 defending national champion Oklahoma
• The conference portion features seven opponents that made varying finishes in the 2017 NCAA Tournament
