Beavers Fall to California

The Beavers (1-6, 0-4 Pac-12) fell to the Golden Bears (4-3, 1-3 Pac-12) by a final score of 49-7 in the 71st all-time meeting between the two schools.
Pierce picked up 44 rushing yards on 13 carries, and backed that up with 72 receiving yards off five catches. Quarterback Jack Colletto completed 11-of-20 passes for 104 yards.
The Beavers had a tough time in the first half failing to put any points on the scoreboard and trailed 21-0 at halftime.
Oregon State broke the shutout in the third quarter following a 12-play 64-yard drive that took up 4:39 off the clock. The Beavers converted a fourth down attempt inside the five yard line and capped it off with a Colletto 1-yard rushing touchdown.
The Beavers successfully recovered an onside kick on the ensuing kickoff, but failed to capitalize on the opportunity. California went on to win by a final score of 49-7.
