Match Notes

The Beavers face USC on Thursday and UCLA on Sunday.

The Games: Oregon State women's soccer team heads to Los Angeles for match-ups against No. 2 USC on Oct. 18 and No. 9 UCLA on Oct. 21.

Follow Along: Thursday's game at USC will be broadcast on both the Pac-12 Los Angeles and Pac-12 Oregon. Sunday's game at UCLA will be on the Pac-12 Networks. What's Coming Up: Oregon State returns home next week to host Arizona (Oct. 25) and Arizona State (Oct. 28) for the final two home game of the regular season. The 2018 seniors will be recognized at the Arizona State match.

History with the Trojans:

USC has one the last five meetings against Oregon State.
Oregon State went on their longest winning streak from 2009-2011 when both teams made post-season berths.
Oregon State has scored 25 goals all-time against USC. USC has scored 59 vs. OSU.

History with the Bruins:

Then sophomore, Taylor Lemmond recorded the lone goal for Oregon State against No. 1 UCLA last season.
The Beavers last beat the Bruins in 2015, 2-1.
Oregon State has scored 18 goals all-time against UCLA. UCLA has scored 55 against OSU.

Starting XI:

The Beavers have had two athletes start every game this season (Malone and Studer).
There have been 17 different starters this season creating 12 different starting lineups.

Quick Hitters:

Oregon State has committed the eighth-most fouls in the NCAA this season, with 12.79 per game.
Oregon State ended the 2017 season with back-to-back wins over Utah and Oregon.
OSU scored 10 goals last season, the fewest total since 2014.
The Beavers committed the fewest amount of fouls during the 2017 season that they have committed in the last decade.
Oregon State made the least shot attempts in the Pac-12 last season, with an average of 10.37 per match. Currently averaging 7.14 per match this season.

The Newcomers:

The team welcomes 11 newcomers to the roster for the 2018 season, 10 freshmen and one transfer.
Eight newcomers have seen time in the first eight matches of the season (Brown, Deane, Liddell, Hackbarth, Keawekane, MacDonald, Skiba and Studer).
Bridgette Skiba leads the Pac-12 with 69 saves on the season as of Oct. 15.
Helena Brown recorded her first career goal as a Beaver against Gonzaga.
Sydney Studer scored her first career goal as a Beaver against California.
Emma Deane made her OSU debut in goal against Washington State.
These 11 span from two countries (United States and Jamaica) and four different states (Oregon, California, Hawaii and Washington).

The Returners

Redshirt freshman McKenzie Weinert has scored two goals this season in back-to-back games (vs. Dartmouth - first career goal, and vs. Texas Tech).
Senior Kate Evans recorded the first goal for the Beavers in the 2018 season off a free kick against Stony Brook.
Senior Allison Pantuso recorded her first goal of the season against California off a penalty shot.
Lindsay Lamont had a penalty shot save and a career high 12 saves against No. 1 Stanford.
Pantuso returns for her senior year after leading the 2017 team in the minute's category with 1723.
The Beavers return four athletes who scored a goal last season (Leblic, Lemmond, O'Connor and Santiago).
Diana Santiago is the only returner who recorded a goal and an assist last season.

The Staff:

Head Coach Linus Rhode is entering his 11^th season at the helm of the Oregon State women's soccer team.
Rhode has 88 career wins at Oregon State, which ranks first for the most wins in Oregon State history.
Prior to becoming a head coach, Rhode was an assistant and associate coach for the Beavers for eight seasons.
The Beavers enter their second season with Michelle Voiland as the associate head coach after being a longtime assistant with the program.
Vanessa Valentine returns for her second season as assistant coach.

The Schedule:

Oregon State has faced five top-25 teams and one receiving votes so far this season (as of day game was played): No. 18 Kansas (Aug. 24), No. 25 Texas Tech (Sept. 9) and No. 23 Colorado (Sept. 21), No. 9 Washington State (Sept. 30), No. 1 Stanford (Oct. 7), RV Nebraska (Aug. 26).
The Beavers took on foes from six different conferences in non-league play. OSU faced two teams from the Big 12, two from the West Coast, and one each from the ACC, Big 10, American East and Ivy League.
The Beavers will be on TV nine times this year, with their sixth and seventh Pac-12 Network appearances coming against USC and UCLA next weekend.

Jodie Taylor currently plays for Seattle Reign FC.
Taylor recently helped Melbourne City FC win the 2017/18 Westfield W-League Championships.
Was a member of England's Euro 2017 squad, scoring the winning goal to send the Lionesses to the semi-finals.
Recently nominated for the Best International Women's Soccer Player at the 2018 ESPYs.
Rachel Axon currently plays for Kolbotn Fotball in the Norwegian league.
Greta Espinoza plays for Tigres Femenil in Mexico.
Espinoza was a member of the Mexico National Team who recently won a gold medal at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Columbia.
Bella Geist was picked in the third round (29^th overall) by the Portland Thorns in the 2018 draft.
Geist recently signed a contract with FFC Frankfurt in Germany.
Emma Jones recently signed a contract to play for the Linkopings FC in Sweden.
Natalie Higgins signed a contract on Sept. 16 to play for Ravenna Women in Italy.
