Do you have a specific pre-race ritual?
I don't have a specific pre-race ritual, but I always have to have a braid in my hair for race day!
Â
What has been your favorite moment as an OSU athlete?Â
My favorite moment as an OSU athlete so far, was my first race in Austin, Texas. It was not only my first time competing at a D1 level, but my first time racing in boat at a race. This being my first year to ever row, racing has truly been an empowering experience.Â
Â
If you had a pump-up song, what would it be?Â
My pump-up song would be "Maneater" by Nelly Furtado, the beat gets me every time.
If you could play a different college sport at Oregon State, what would it be and why? Â
Though my height may be deceiving, I would love to be a dancer on the OSU dance team. I have always had a strong passion to dance, and I miss the sport more than anything.Â
What do you like best about Corvallis?Â
I am from a small town of Eastern Oregon, so I like how much Corvallis has to offer, while still having the small town feel.Â
How would you describe your teammates?Â
BUBBLY and DRAMATIC! We have some of the most outgoing personalities which bring lots of individuality, and creates a colorful dynamic.Â
How would you describe the coaching staff?Â
FRESH and DETERMINED! Gaining a new coaching staff not only boosted the team moral, but allowed for us to grow together as a team. The coaches and staff show us their undying determination to help us succeed every day, and it truly boosts the team's spirits.Â
Â
Where are you most excited to race at?Â
I am most excited to race in South Carolina, at Clemson! (No specific reason besides warmer weather!)Â
What is your major? Why did you choose your major?Â
I am a HDFS (Human Development and Family Sciences) and Elementary Education double major. I chose these majors because they will help me best prepare to be the elementary teacher I am striving to be. Yay for learning!Â
Â
Describe a funny or interesting part of studying your major at Oregon State.Â
A funny/interesting part of studying my major is that most people who study HDFS/Elementary Education are women. Needless to say, I am surrounded by women through most of my days.Â
Â
What would be your favorite vacation destination?Â
Any national forest would be my destination of choice. I love the mountains and anything that has to do with nature. America is truly a beautiful mystery.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?Â
In Ten years, I hope to be teaching at an elementary school, and raising the family I have always wanted.Â
Â
If you were a superhero what super power would you want? Why?Â
If I were a superhero I would want enough mind power to read people's minds and move objects. Do you know how much easier would that make my life?Â
