TUCSON, Ariz. – The 11^th-ranked Oregon State baseball team took an early lead but was unable to hold it in a 6-1 loss to Arizona Friday night at Hi Corbett Field.

Logan Ice drove in Nick Madrigal, who had tripled with one down, on a groundout in the first to put the Beavers up 1-0. Arizona, however, took a 3-1 lead with a three-run fourth inning, highlighted by a triple from Ryan Aguilar. The Wildcats added to their lead with a two-run seventh and one more in the eighth.

Madrigal's first-inning triple extended his hit streak to 13 games, one shy of his season-long of 14. He's reached base safely in 41 of the Beavers' 42 games, and has a hit in 39.

Nathan Bannister earned the win for Arizona (29-16 overall, 12-10 Pac-12). He improved to 7-1 on the year after holding the Beavers to five hits and a run in a complete-game effort.

Travis Eckert started for the Beavers (29-13, 10-9) and was saddled with the loss, putting his record at 5-3 on the year. He allowed seven hits and six runs in 7 1/3 innings.

The teams continue the series Saturday with another night game at Hi Corbett Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. PT and can be seen live on Pac-12 Network and Pac-12 Oregon.
