Rakocevic Sets Career Highs In Points, Rebounds

RENO, Nev. – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell 83-58 to Nevada on Friday night in a non-conference game at the Lawlor Events Center.
OSU sophomore center Gligorije Rakocevic established new career highs by scoring 12 points on 6-for-9 shooting, and by grabbing seven rebounds before fouling out late in the game. His previous highs were six points and five rebounds, set in different games during the 2015-16 season.
Rakocevic had six points and five rebounds in the first half, when Nevada (2-1) pulled away from an early 2-2 tie to establish an insurmountable 48-25 intermission advantage. He also blocked a shot.
Sophomore forward Tres Tinkle had 16 points, three rebounds and set a career-high with five assists in his third game in double figures this season. Tinkle is averaging a team-leading 17.6 points. Sophomore center Drew Eubanks added eight points, eight rebounds and a blocked shot.
OSU (2-2) played its third game in a row without sophomore guard Stephen Thompson Jr., its second-leading returning scorer from 2015-16. He is out with a minor foot injury.
The Beavers resume nonconference action at Tulsa on Tuesday. Their next home game is Friday, Nov. 25, against Fresno State. It will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
