Beavers Conclude Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 18 Oregon State women's rowing team concluded racing the Clemson Invitational Sunday with another solid outing.
“It was a productive weekend,” head coach Emily Ford said. “We learned a lot on the race course, and it was good to come out ahead of a lot of strong teams. Thanks to Clemson University for hosting this terrific event.”
Oregon State's 18th-ranked Varsity 8 crew earned a fourth place finish in its final race of the weekend pulling in behind No. 4 Virginia, No. 10 Washington State and No. 15 Harvard-Radcliffe but well ahead of No. 20 Minnesota, Oklahoma and Penn with a time of 6:42.7.
The Second Varsity 8 found itself in a three boat race for second with crews from Washington State and Harvard-Radcliffe. The Beavers out-sprinted Radcliffe to the finish line earning third place with a time of 6:43.0, just two-tenths of a second ahead to record wins over Harvard-Radcliffe, Minnesota, Penn and Oklahoma.
In the Varsity 4+ race, OSU finished in sixth with a time of 7:36.3 less than a half-second behind Penn and ahead of Oklahoma.
Oregon State has a week off before hosting Washington State and UCLA at Dexter Lake in Lowell, Ore. Saturday, May 2.
