On a game that could have resulted in a win...
"This was a game we could have had. We made way too many mistakes. It felt like we were out of sync from right at the beginning. I mean loose balls, turnovers. To be quite honest with you, at halftime I was surprised that we were right there. We had a lot of turnovers, a lot of missed plays, and it just felt like we were out of sync. I haven't had that feeling at all this season."
On the result of shooting 24 percent in the second half...
"I think you have to give them a lot of credit. They stepped up their defense and then we didn't convert on a couple of things, and we were trying too hard to make stuff happen without going through our normal strategy."
On how difficult it is to be on the road so long with a Wednesday-Saturday game schedule...
"It's possible. We have to examine that, because right now we are the only team that doesn't go back and forth. It was a long trip. But we are big boys. We had practice every day so I don't want to make an excuse that it's because we've been away for such a long time. You have to be able to play well all the time in order to win these kinds of games."
On the advantages of Challe Barton running the point...
"It seems like we can get in our stuff better than when he is not on the floor. But I didn't feel that today. Today everybody seemed sluggish. I thought Joe (Burton) played well. I thought Joe did a great job on Aziz (N'Diaye). But outside of Joe, everybody felt like they were out of sorts. I'll have to look at the tape and see if I can see why. I'm sure a lot of it had to do with how they were playing. What we did the last time, we didn't let (C.J.) Wilcox get going until later. He got going right at the first play of the game. You can't do it when a guy is a pro."
On the game being a lost opportunity...
"Oh yeah. The brilliant thing about this season is that we are in every game. We can win every game. This is the first time in five years I felt like that. So every loss is a missed opportunity because we can win. I'm not trying to be overly optimistic, but that's the reality of it. We could win every single game we've played this season, including Kansas, including Washington away, including Cal who is playing well. All of those games were all winnable."
On Joe Burton playing through pain...
"He cracked knees with somebody or bumped knees or something. We'll have to take a look and see how he is doing. But he has just been just a warrior for us out there. I was just telling the guys, here is a guy who sees the end of his career, the mortality of his college career. Whether he goes on and plays some more that remains to be seen. When you see the end coming, you try to suck the life out of every single moment and that's what he's doing. He's been playing well. He's been helping us win."
On whether returning home for games against Stanford and California can help the team...
"It could. I don't think we are that far way. I think we really have to understand that we are good enough. It's getting back to that. Somebody gave me a stat today that they looked at the top-10 teams who have the closest games, win or lose this season, and we were like second or third or fourth, something like that. So you have to start winning those. I thought Wednesday (in the win at Washington State) was a good start. I don't know if we just felt like we could show up because we beat Washington the last time, I don't know. I don't know. I'll have to take a look at the tape."
