
Volleyball Downed By No. 6 Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – Arica Nassar tallied a team-leading 10 kills and Lila Toner notched nine but the Oregon State volleyball team dropped a three-set match to No. 6 Stanford Friday night at Maples Pavilion.
Set scores were 14-25, 15-25 and 19-25.
Nassar finished with a .471 hitting percentage, in 17 attempts, while Toner's nine kills came on a team-high 28 attacks. The Beavers (9-11 overall, 0-9 Pac-12 Conference) hit .140 as a team compared to .461 for the Cardinal (15-4, 8-2).
Stanford held the statistical advantage in blocks, 6-3, digs, 44 to 30, and assists, 46 to 33. Amanda Brown and Laura Schaudt each had two blocks to lead the Beavers, while Becky Defoe's 10 digs gave her the team lead for the 18th time in 20 matches this season.
Oregon State tallied four service aces to Stanford's one. Darby Reeder had two while Tayla Woods and Sara Almen each finished with one. Woods also had 30 of the Beavers' 33 assists.
The Beavers held the lead at least once in each of the three sets, and the teams saw a tied score seven times overall.
