Los Angeles, Calif. - The Oregon State volleyball team (11-9, 3-7 Pac-12), led by junior Camille Saxton's (Balzac, Alberta) nine kills, came up short at No. 3 USC (15-3, 10-1 Pac-12) in three sets (12-25, 14-25, 15-25) on Saturday evening in the Galen Center.
"We were just overmatched, particularly attacking," head coach Taras Liskevych said. "We had too many attack errors. USC is a very good team that hasn't lost since its first Pac-12 match. I thought we blocked the middle well, but we couldn't stop Katie Fuller or Alex Jupiter."
Saxton added seven digs and a pair of blocks to her match-high tying kills.
Sophomore Becky Defoe (Bend, Ore.) anchored the backcourt with 10 digs with redshirt freshman Allie Rogers (Eugene, Ore.) contributing a pair of blocks.
USC's Alex Jupiter and Katie Fuller both paced the Women of Troy offense with nine kills, while libero Natalie Hagglund had a match-high 17 digs.
Oregon State returns home next for a two-week homestand. The Beavers will take on No. 2 Washington on Friday and Washington State on Saturday with both matches slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
