Softball Drops 2-0 Decision To No. 10 Michigan

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Oregon State University's softball team dropped a 2-0 ballgame to No. 10 ranked University of Michigan late Friday night at the UNLV Classic.
The Wolverines improved to 2-0 on the season and in the tournament with the victory, while Oregon State falls to 10-4 on the year and 1-1 in tourney action.
Michigan scored a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the game.
OSU hurler Monica Hoffman (6-3) held the Wolverines to just three hits in the contest, but the Beavers could manage only two hits of their own against sophomore Jennie Ritter.
Freshman Mia Longfellow and sophomore Lisa Allen each went 1-for-3 for Oregon State. Offensively OSU struggled, leaving seven runners stranded on base.
The Beavers return to action on Saturday when they face Cal Poly at 11 a.m. followed by a 1:30 p.m. game against UC Riverside.
