No. 11 OSU Softball Splits Two Games Against Top-25 Teams

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - - Oregon State (6-4-1) knocked off No. 23 Central Michigan 6-1 in OSU's first game on Saturday at the UNLV Softball Classic in Nevada, then dropped a dropped a tough game to No. 13 Nebraska 2-1.
OSU got four doubles on the day, one each from Steph Adams, Shannon Sorg, Tarrah Beyster, and Jessica King, as well as a two-run home-run blast by Parisa Plant in the OSU's big fourth inning.
The Beavers jumped ahead early against CMU (0-3), stringing together three doubles in the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. OSU added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth, and one in the sixth to cap off their scoring for the game.
Crystal Draper improved her record to 3-0 on the year with the win, allowing just one CMU runner across homeplate.
In the second game, Beyster launched a solo home-run to put the Beavers ahead 1-0 in the second inning. OSU held Nebraska (4-5) scoreless until the bottom of the fifth, when UN's Jennifer Lizama smacked a triple to right-center to bring home runners on second and third.
Beyster gave up just seven hits on the afternoon while taking the loss, but OSU could only muster three hits of their own.
Leigh Ann Walker got the win for Nebraska, and Penny Cope came in for her first save of the year.
