SEATTLE (AP) - Sissel Pierce scored 16 points to lead the Oregon State Beavers to a 57-50 victory over the Washington Huskies on Thursday night.
Pierce made 7-of-13 from the field before fouling out with 5:03 remaining in the game.
The Beavers (11-13, 7-5 Pac-10) lead the conference in scoring defense, allowing 60.3 points per game, and they did a good job of shutting down the Huskies' top scorer. Megan Franza, the conference leader with a 19-point average, did not score in the first half and finished with four.
Franza made only 1-of-14 from the field, but she was not the only Husky to struggle. Washington (7-17, 3-9) shot 25 percent from the field, and its 50 points is its lowest offensive output since losing an 81-47 contest to Louisiana Tech on Dec. 2, 1994.
Oregon State has won seven of its last 10 games, with the only losses in that stretch to ranked opponents Arizona, UCLA and Stanford.
Reda Petraitis scored 12 points for the Beavers, while Felicia Ragland added 11.
Washington was led by LeAnn Sheets, who scored 11 of her career-high 17 points in the second half. Loree Payne added 11.
The Beavers led 29-23 at halftime.
