Beavers Beat Cougars by 28 at Home
February 21, 2026 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. — Jenna Villa drilled a career-high six three-pointers and Kennedie Shuler matched her with 20 points as Oregon State dominated Washington State 79-51 Saturday at Gill Coliseum, the largest win by the Beavers over the Cougars since March 3, 2006.
Oregon State moves to 20-9 and 12-4 in WCC play, moving into solo third in the conference with Santa Clara's loss to Pepperdine. The 20-win season is the 10th for the Beavs under head coach Scott Rueck.
The Beavers shot 44 percent from the floor and an efficient 45 percent from beyond the arc, knocking down 9-of-20 three-point attempts. OSU held to Washington State just 31 percent shooting and 19 percent from distance as the Cougs managed just 3-of-16 from three.
Oregon State controlled the tempo from the opening tip, jumping out to a 6-0 lead before the Cougars found the scoreboard. The Beavers continued to push the pace throughout the first quarter, building a 21-10 advantage. Oregon State held the lead for 39 of the game's 40 minutes and led by as many as 30 points in the fourth quarter.
The Beavers carried a comfortable 47-29 lead into the locker room at halftime, fueled in part by a standout second-quarter performance from Shuler. The junior guard buried three consecutive shots down the stretch of the second frame, finishing the half with 12 points and four assists. The Cougars couldn't find a second-half answer, and OSU methodically extended its cushion in the third and fourth quarters.
Villa was the offensive catalyst all afternoon. The guard finished 6-of-10 from the floor, including a 6-of-8 effort from three-point range, to go along with nine rebounds. She was an astounding +30 in her 34 minutes.
Shuler complemented her with 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting, drawing six fouls and converting 6-of-8 from the free-throw line. She also grabbed four rebounds and dished four assists in 28 minutes of action.
Tiara Bolden added 15 points and a team-high three steals. Lizzy Williamson posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, giving the Beavers a dominant presence inside.
The Beavers close the regular season with a split weekend, heading to San Diego on Thursday before returning home for senior day against LMU on Saturday.
