PERSONAL--Born in Klaipeda, Lithuania...daughter of Petras Kakeranas and Laimute Kakeraniene...her father and mother are basketball coaches...she has one younger sister, Orinta, 20...played in 1998-99 as Reda Kakeranaite before being married to Ramunas Petraitis, a senior on the OSU men's basketball squad, in August, 1999...Reda is in the College of Liberal Arts and is a sociology major...enjoys movies and music...selected OSU because, "I liked the basketball program and the people and environment."...Reda selected OSU over Oklahoma.

(1998-99--Junior)--Reda, a junior college transfer playing as Reda Kakeranaite , played in all 27 games with no starts and averaged 19.7 minutes a game...scored 174 points (6.4 ppg), fifth best on team, and pulled down 124 rebounds, third best on team...74 of her rebounds were on the offensive end...shot .421 from the field, but struggled from the free throw line, connecting on only 24 of 71 attempts, a percentage of .338...had 32 assists, 31 steals and 4 blocked shots...in 18 Pac-10 games, Reda was the Beavers' fourth-leading scorer, averaging 6.5 points a game and was the leading rebounder with 96 and a 5.3 average...scored in double figures six times, including a career best 17 points vs. California (1/4)...had two double-figure rebounding games, 15 vs. Washington State (1/15) and 11 against Colorado State (11/23)...just missed double-double games twice, when she had 8 points and 11 rebounds vs. Colorado State and 12 points and 9 rebounds at Oregon (1/29)...a poor showing the free throw line (3-8) stopped her from getting a double-double in the CSU contest...Reda had a fantastic game off the bench at Portland (12/9), scoring 10 points and hitting 5 of 7 shots from the field...she helped to ignite OSU's second half comeback against Portland...she had another great outing at Portland State (12/18) with 12 points off the bench...Reda became OSU's super sub during Pac-10 play...in Pac-10 games, Reda shot .395 from the field and .342 from the foul line...58 of her 96 rebounds were on the offensive end...started conference play with 8 points vs. Stanford (1/2) and 17 against California (1/4)...with the exception of one road game at Oregon, Reda's best games in conference play were in Gill Coliseum...following the Stanford and California home series, Reda scored 6 points at UCLA (1/8) and 4 at USC (1/10), but bounced back with 7 points and 15 rebounds at home vs. WSU (1/15) and came back with 14 points and 7 rebounds vs. Washington (1/17)...Reda followed her trend by going on the road the next week and failed to score at ASU (1/21) and added only 6 points at Arizona (1/23)...returned to Willamette Valley and had an outstanding game at Oregon (1/29), scoring 12 points and picking off 9 rebounds...had 4 points and 2 rebounds at home vs. USC (2/4) and 6 points vs. UCLA (2/6)...had her first good Pac-10 road game at Washington (2/11) with 8 points and 7 rebounds...scored 4 points and picked off 4 rebounds at WSU (2/13) and duplicated the numbers at home vs. Arizona (2/19)...played only 4 minutes against Arizona State (2/21) at home and tallied 5 points...had 5 points and 3 rebounds vs. Oregon (2/26) at Gill Coliseum...finished the season with two strong performances on the road at California (3/4) and Stanford (3/6)...had a career high 5 steals in each game and scored a total of 12 points and 7 rebounds...produced career bests of 17 points vs. California; 15 rebounds vs. WSU; 6 assists vs. Washington; 5 steals at California and Stanford; 8 field goals made vs. California; 7 turnovers vs. Washington and 32 minutes played vs. WSU.
WEATHERFORD JUNIOR COLLEGE--Reda attended Weatherford Junior College in Weatherford, Texas...she was a two-year starter for Coach Bob McKinley at the No. 3 forward position...Reda was a first-team all-conference (NTJCAC) selection as a freshman and sophomore, plus she was a first-team all-region 5 junior college selection...she earned first-team all-conference honors as a freshman for the Lady Coyotes after averaging 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals a game...according to McKinley, "Reda is a big game player, an excellent scorer and rebounder."...as a sophomore, Reda averaged 18.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game for the conference champion Lady Coyotes, who finished #6 in the NJCAA national poll...Reda scored a one-game high of 34 points in the Region 5 Tournament championship game...Weatherford had a 59-9 record over the two years Reda played for the Coyotes...
