Jordan Corder enters her first season with Oregon State, serving as the volleyball program’s volunteer assistant. Corder comes to Oregon State after an exceptional playing career at NCAA Division II Shorter University in Rome, Ga.
Corder, a setter, departed Shorter as its program’s all-time leader in assists with 4,562 and led the Gulf South Conference with a career-high 1,389 assists as a senior in 2012. That season, Corder was named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) South Region Player of the Year and a first team NCCAA All-America after leading Shorter to the NCCAA national championship match.
Corder was a three-time, first team all-conference performer, earning back-to-back Southern States Athletic Conference Setter of the Year honors as a freshman and sophomore in 2009 and 2010. In addition to leaving as Shorter’s all-time assists leader, Corder ranks third all-time at Shorter in digs (1,362) and sixth in service aces (112).
Corder, a native of Hazel Green, Ala., will receive her degree from Shorter in December, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Corder is engaged to Matt Green of Richmond, Va., and the couple is set to marry in January 2014.
