Kavin Keyes, who played four seasons under head coach Pat Casey at Oregon State, is in his first season as an undergraduate assistant coach with the Beavers.
A native of Sandy, Utah, Keyes came to Oregon State prior to the 2011 season and played in 216 career games, starting 194. An infielder, he batted .293 during his career, collecting 37 doubles, six triples, four home runs and 23 runs batted in.
In 2013, his junior season, he batted .316 with 12 doubles and helped Oregon State to its fifth ever College World Series. In 2014, his final season in Corvallis, he batted .329 with 23 RBI.
Keyes was named All-Pac-10 First Team in 2011 after batting .302 as a freshman. He was also named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American.
He was selected in the 39th round of the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Seattle Mariners.
Keyes played at Alta High School in Utah before coming to Oregon State.
