Beaver Women’s Rowing Bests Washington State

LOWELL, Ore. – Five Oregon State boats were victorious as Oregon State Women's Rowing bested the Washington Cougars in a dual held at Dexter Reservoir on Saturday.
The action commenced with a close victory for the 3V4+, who posted a 7:43.70 to beat the Cougars (7:44.69) and the Beavers' fourth varsity four (8:34.54). Winning continued for both the first and second four, both recording margins of victory greater than 10 seconds.
Another win ensued for the 2V8, rowing all 2,000 meters in 6:44.4, before a commanding 10-second victory for the team's top boat, the first varsity eight; racing concluded with the 3V8 race, the Cougars taking a two-second win.
Saturday's result marks the second-consecutive year that the Beavers have defeated the Cougars in commanding fashion, having posted head-to-head wins in the 3V8/4V8, 2V4, 2V8, 1V8, 3V4 and 4V4 last season in a road regatta.
Oregon State women's rowing returns to action May 15 at the West Coast Conference Championship, hosted at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.
