Beaver Gymnastics Falls to Utah State

LOGAN, Utah – Oregon State gymnastics fell to future Pac-12 opponent Utah State Friday night, posting a 196.150 at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
The Beaver floor lineup led the team's scoring with a 49.275 in the third rotation. Sophia Kaloudis and Reina Marchal led off with a pair of 9.800s that were followed by a pair of 9.850s from Olivia Buckner and Reina Marchal, which was immediately followed by Savannah Miller, who earned a 9.875, and Sophia Esposito, who was given the Beavers' only 9.900 of the meet.
DeVries set a new career-high with her 9.800 and Buckner made it three meets in four weeks with a 9.850 or better on that event. Marchal's 9.850 was her fourth-consecutive 9.850 or better and Esposito has now earned a 9.900 in back-to-back weeks.
Savannah Miller set a new career high on bars, leading off the lineup with a 9.850, setting the stage for a rotation that counted no lower than a 9.800. Following Miller's routine, Kaloudis earned a 9.800 before Francesca Caso and Esposito rattled off back-to-back 9.850s; Ellie Weaver finished the scoring with a 9.800.
Buckner added a 9.875 on vault and 9.775 on beam, while Esposito vaulted her way to a 9.850 to cap a 39.275 in the all-around.
Utah State finished the meet with a 196.650 to claim victory.
